Longform: A Smart Reader App Reviews

A wealth of great writing on topics going in all directions. Ive read about things I never knew about and never would have searched for on my own, just because this app finds it for me and presents it in such an attractive and easy-to-use format. Like having a smart, well-informed friend recommending good stuff to read, or maybe even better.

I am just starting to use this, having discovered it via the suggestions in the app store. I have no idea how they are providing this service without any apparent way to do an in app purchase however this is a much better experience than looking at your rss feeds in something like Flipboard. Curated suggestions, top charts, excellent sources, what more could you ask for. I will go back and update this review if it turns out that the emperor has no clothes, however so far this is just what I was looking for. In addition, no need to download the articles to read later, because it is downloading them all for you.

Effortless, no latency, and access to all the best writers and magazines

Listening to all three of the hosts interview all the folks that inform us is amazing. Got love he casual reverence they all have for their guests. I have a favorite host but then it kinda flips and I love the way each of them have different vibes. All fascinating. Love Marc Maron interviews these are just as good in a different way. I learn so much and get inspired to think differently. Every person that wants to publish should listen for inspiration. Love you guys!

Excellent presentation. Excellent curation. Not sure why this app doesnt get more love from critics or users, it is simply above and beyond Apple News, Flipboard, Nuzzel, Feedly, Wildcard and any other news app Ive tried. Excellent!

My top app on my phone--lets me keep track of all the latest articles and save them to read later. Love it!

Frequently forces safari or App Store to open while Im trying to reason article. Very frustrating.

Love it. So many news publications to subscribe to. Love that it tells how many minutes the articles take to read. Love the popular articles tab. Only suggestion is automatically load more articles when scrolling instead of having to click "load more"

I love Longform and do most of my reading in the app. But one thing totally bugs me. Its waaaay too easy to accidentally flip between the web and reader versions of articles when youre just trying to scroll down. Plus if you inadvertently swipe back to the menu, your spot is completely lost and you end up spending all this time scrolling madly down trying to find it again. Please fix! I love this app!

Really enjoyed the articles I read with it, BUT it just crashes too much...bummer.

Best app for top-notch journalism

Thank you for providing an app that allows me to read excellent journalism and reportage without having to search the abyss of the internet for hours and hours. This is a fantastic application.

I dont understand the benefit of using this over opening my browser and searching with that. Even more annoyingly, theres no option to explore the "crime" section, which is essentially the only reason I use longform, and is available on their regular website.

Ive been using the app for 30 minutes. Its crashed four times.

I enjoy the app a lot when it doesnt freeze. I try to choose a new article and it tends to freeze so I have to force close it.
